Hey Simon, not a horribly longtime viewer, but a viewer nonetheless. I recently graduated from college a month and a half back and I haven’t been doing too well upstairs. All the people I thought were my friends seem to have cut all ties and moved on with whatever (the second time this has happened in my lifetime; I’m a veteran and already went through this once when I got out.) I’ve been struggling to find a job, as I’ve applied to about a hundred different employers since graduation and the most I’ve gotten was a single phone call that seemed promising but I got ghosted. I had the brilliant idea of getting BFA in Film for writing and directing, I guess that isn’t very enticing to employers. Anyways, I’ve been feeling particularly not great today and I have to admit I fell off your stuff for a bit, but I tuned into this video and you managed to make me smile and laugh for the first time in a few days. Really can’t thank you enough, everything kinda sucks right now, but I at least got your videos to make it a little bit better.

I think you have a very low ceiling as a programmer if you don't learn at least one low level language. It teaches you how the computer works. I have made programs run millions of times faster with this understanding. If your simulations takes weeks to solve on cutting edge hardware you can't just get more hardware. I think it is also important in understanding other ideas in programming.
